The answers we give most often.
- Are these patterns historically accurate?
- They are drawn from study of historical visual sources — Navajo weaving, Pueblo pottery, and Anasazi architecture. They are not claimed to be reproductions of specific sacred objects. The goal is to honour the visual geometry of these traditions as a design and colouring subject.
- What medium works best for these pages?
- Coloured pencils are the most popular choice — the detailed regions reward slow, precise colouring. Fineliner pens work well for a graphic, flat look. Watercolor is possible but the regions are smaller than our watercolor-specific collection, so a fine round brush is needed.
- Are these suitable for children?
- The detail level suits ages 10 and up, and adults most of all. For younger children our watercolor botanical collection has larger regions that are easier to fill.
- Can I use these for commercial purposes?
- The Sampler and Collection tiers include a personal use licence. The Extended set includes a commercial licence for Etsy and Amazon KDP publishing.
- Can you create a custom pattern based on a specific tradition?
