Vintage isn't a single look — it's six decades of distinct visual languages. We design to a specific era rather than a generic 'aged' aesthetic, because 1958 doesn't look like 1972 doesn't look like 1985.

Pick a decade. We'll pick the details.
Each decade has its own typography, colour palette, line work and texture rules. Generic 'vintage' usually means 'we picked Lobster from Google Fonts'. We don't do that.

1920s–30s art deco
Geometric type, gold accents, symmetry, machine-age confidence.

1950s–60s mid-century
Mustard + teal + cream palette, hand-drawn warmth, subtle texture.

1970s retro
Curved bold sans-serif, sunset stripe accents, earth-tones.

Distressed edges, photocopier texture, punk-zine confidence.

N° 02Genuine, not pastiche
Period-correct, down to the texture.
Lazy retro slaps a halftone on a modern logo and calls it vintage. We design as if the brief came in during that era — typography, palette, line weight and printing imperfections all chosen accordingly.

We use era-correct typefaces or draw custom letterforms in the period's hand.

Period palette
Each decade has documented inks and printing limitations. We work within them, not against them.

Subtle texture
Light grain, gentle plate registration, faint ink-bleed — only where the era warrants it.

N° 04Questions
The answers we give most often.
- Can you blend eras?
- Carefully. We can build a 1960s-with-modern-rendering mark, but mixing 1920s art deco with 1980s synthwave usually fights itself.
- Will it read as modern enough for 2026?
- Vintage done well reads as confidently of-its-era today. Many of the most successful current brands lean explicitly on era-specific design.
- Do you do distress / aging effects?
- Yes — but only where era-appropriate. We don't apply heavy distress to a 1960s mark; that's a 1990s grunge move.
- Can you redraw a logo from photographs of old signage?
- Yes — vector reconstruction from photo reference is a common request. Send what you have.
