A studio service

Biotech Showcase decks for the shortest slot of the year.

Next: 11–13 January 2027, San Francisco. Around four hundred companies present during JPM week, to a room of investors who will sit through dozens of them. Your slot is minutes long, the audience is comparing you against everything else they saw that morning, and the deck is the only thing left behind. We build for that room, and for the meetings that follow it.

N° 01What the slot demands

Minutes, not a meeting.

01

Read from across a room, not a laptop

A podium deck is projected and seen at distance. Eight-point footnotes, dense pipeline tables and pale axis labels vanish. One idea per slide, type that survives the back row, and the number you want remembered made the largest thing on it.

02

You are being compared, all day

An investor sits through many presentations in a row. What they retain is the shape of the story — indication, stage, differentiation, ask — not your mechanism diagram. Lead with the shape and let the science support it.

03

The partnering meetings run alongside

The podium slot is one artefact; the scheduled one-to-ones are another, and they are driven by their questions rather than your order. Same story, different structure, built together so nothing contradicts.

04

January, so the work lands over the holidays

Presenting companies are confirmed well in advance, yet most decks get built in the final fortnight. Starting in autumn is the difference between rehearsing and improvising.

N° 02What we build

One story, three cuts.

01

The podium deck

The timed talk: asset, mechanism, stage, data, ask. Built to the slot rather than to the ambition, because the clock does not negotiate.

02

The partnering deck

The laptop version for the one-to-ones — navigable out of order, with an appendix you can reach in a click when someone asks the good question.

03

The non-confidential one-pager

The leave-behind. It gets read without you there and forwarded to people who were not in the room, which often makes it the most consequential document of the week.

N° 03Who this is for

Presenting, or just meeting.

01

Small and mid-cap public biotechs

A corporate update where disclosure constrains the language. We work alongside IR and comms — they own what can be said, we own how it lands.

02

Private companies raising a crossover or Series B/C

The room is full of the funds you are trying to reach. The deck has to read as institutional before anyone checks the cap table.

03

Companies doing the whole week without a slot

Plenty attend JPM week without presenting. That is a partnering deck and a leave-behind — a smaller, sharper build.

Questions

The answers we give most often.

How long is the presentation slot?
Short — minutes, in front of investors who will see many companies that day. Ten slides is generous; the discipline is deciding what does not go in.
Is the podium deck the same as the partnering deck?
No. The podium deck is one-to-many, timed, read across a room — big type, one idea per slide. The partnering deck is one-to-one on a laptop, driven by their questions. Same source of truth, different layouts.
We present here and elsewhere in JPM week. One deck or several?
One story, several cuts. Companies routinely present here, take BIO partnering meetings and sit in RESI or private investor meetings the same week. Building each from scratch is how numbers end up disagreeing between rooms.
When should we start?
It is in January, so a late start puts the work across the holidays. Presenting companies are confirmed well in advance — there is no good reason to be building in the last fortnight, which is when most teams do.
Do you need confidential data?
No. Much of the week happens before CDAs, so the deck argues from published or disclosable data, stage and a clear ask. Designing around what cannot be shown is much of the job.
Do you also do BIO-Europe and JPM?
Yes — built once and cut for each. Cheaper and more consistent than commissioning three separate decks.
