N° 23 — Gift book
A studio service
Personalized book as a gift..
A picture book is one of the few gifts that doesn't break, doesn't go out of fashion, and doesn't get forgotten. A book made individually for a specific child often stays on the shelf for decades — read by two generations, later passed on.
The gift that stays.

N° 01When to commission
Occasions for a book that stays.
A custom children's book doesn't fit every occasion — and that's part of its value. It's not an impulse gift. It requires lead time, thought about the child, often photos or input from the family. That's precisely where its meaning comes from.
The occasions people commission books for are almost always large, meaningful moments — not the tenth gift idea for a routine birthday, but the gift for the moment that should be remembered.
01
Kindergarten or school start
One of the most common occasions. The child as the main character on their first day — a book often revisited through the middle school years.
02
Birth or naming
Welcome book for a new family member. Often commissioned by grandparents or godparents as the start of a family keepsake collection.
03
Milestone birthday
Fifth, seventh, tenth birthday. The right moment for a book that shows the child themselves as the main character.
04
Grandparent gift
When grandparents live far away or when the relationship deserves extra care. A book holds closeness when distance is large.
05
Farewell and moving
When a family moves, when a friend moves to another city — a book holds the connection.
06
New sibling gift
A book for the older child welcoming a new sibling, in which they become the "big brother" or "big sister".
N° 02For grandparents
The gift grandparents understand.
The largest group of our clients are grandparents. They know instinctively what a child will treasure: not another toy, not another plastic figure from the shelf, but something that will still be there in twenty years.
If you're planning the book as a gift from grandma or grandpa, we recommend: send us photos of the child, tell us two or three small anecdotes (favorite stuffed animal, favorite food, funny habit), and leave the rest to us. The book becomes the surprise — and grandparents love surprises.
We recommend 8 to 10 weeks of lead time for gifts tied to fixed dates. Shorter timeframes can be discussed, but good books take their time.

N° 04Questions
The answers we give most often.
- How much lead time do I need?
- For a coloring book: 3 to 4 weeks. For a personalized children's book: 6 to 8 weeks. For an heirloom book: 10 to 12 weeks. For known seasonal gifts, plan two weeks of safety buffer.
- Can I commission the book as a surprise?
- Yes — often. We work directly with you, not with the child's parents. We ship the book to your address so you can present it personally. For photos, simply ask the parents for "a few nice pictures" without revealing what they're for.
- Should the child be involved in the process?
- For gifts usually no — the surprise is part of the magic. But for specific occasions (farewell book, memory book), it's lovely when the child helps choose which scenes go into the book.
- Can I order multiple copies?
- Yes — this is actually very common. One for the child, one for the grandparents, one for the other grandparent side, one to keep. Reprint copies are significantly cheaper than the first print ($40–50 for softcover, $70–90 for hardcover).
- Is international shipping available?
- Yes. We ship worldwide. Shipping costs are included in the price; customs may apply for deliveries outside North America/EU.
