The first book a child owns.
Before three, a book is an object first and a story second. It gets held, dropped, chewed and carried around the house. A paperback does not survive that. A board book does, and the pictures in it become the first pictures a child knows by heart.
A personalized board book puts the child themselves in those pictures. Their face, their name, their toy, their dog. At an age when they are learning that they are a person with a name, a book that says the name back to them lands harder than any other gift.

Likeness, proof, print.
You send photos and a few facts. We draw the child and send the character sheet for approval. Then the twelve spreads are illustrated, you see a full digital proof, and the book goes to print. About three weeks door to door.

- Is the printing safe?
- Non-toxic inks and a wipe-clean coating, printed by a manufacturer that makes board books for trade publishers.
- How long does it take?
- About three weeks. Board book printing is slower than paperback, so allow time before a birthday.
