A studio service

Activity books pitched to the right age.

An activity that delights a five-year-old frustrates a two-year-old. We design activity books for one age band at a time, toddler to age five, with the difficulty, line weight and instructions set for the child who will actually use it.

A toddler activity book page with a simple path maze and matching animals

N° 01By age band

What changes year by year.

01

Ages 1 to 2

Point-and-name pages, big single objects, finger trails and simple matching. No pencil skill assumed.

02

Age 3

Wide-path mazes with one route, match the pair, colour by shape, count to five.

03

Age 4

Dot-to-dot to 10 or 20, spot three differences, simple patterns, first tracing.

04

Age 5

Mazes with dead ends, dot-to-dot to 30 or more, counting and first letter sounds, simple word puzzles.

05

Mixed-age family books

Pages marked by difficulty so siblings can share one book.

06

Instructions for grown-ups

A line for the adult on each page where a non-reader needs help, kept out of the working area.

N° 02The part that goes wrong

Too hard, too small, too many.

01

Borrowed difficulty

Activities copied from books for older children are the most common fault. Each page is checked against the age band in the plan.

02

Thin lines

Toddlers use thick crayons. Outlines and paths are drawn wide enough to stay inside.

03

Reading required

A three-year-old cannot read the instruction. The page has to show what to do with a picture example.

04

No progression

Books that start hard lose the child on page two. Pages are ordered easy to harder.

N° 03How it runs

Plan first, artwork after.

01

1. Page plan

We agree the single age band, the mix of activity types and the theme, and list every page before artwork starts.

02

2. Sample pages

Two or three finished pages in the agreed look, so you approve the style and the difficulty before the rest is made.

03

3. Full interior

Every page produced to the plan, with answers or instructions where the format needs them, then one consolidated round of changes.

04

4. Cover and files

Cover design, front matter and print-ready files at your trim size, set to your printer's or platform's template.

N° 05Questions

The answers we give most often.

Can one book cover ages 2 to 6?
It can, but it serves nobody well. A narrower band lets every page fit the child. If you need a wide range, we mark pages by difficulty.
How do you decide what suits each age?
From common early-years practice: pencil control, counting range and attention span rise year by year. You or your educator approve the level on the sample pages before the rest is made.
How many pages should a toddler activity book have?
Shorter than you think. A young child finishes a few pages at a sitting, so the page count follows the price point you want rather than a rule.
Can it be printed through Amazon KDP?
Yes. A standard activity book is a paperback, and we set the files to KDP's template or your printer's.
Do I own the pages?
Yes, with full commercial rights and the editable files.
